Timely Success For Manhattan Rain

High class young sire Manhattan Rain has sired his first winner in a timely success leading into next week’s Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

The Trevor Bailey trained filly Downtown Manhattan gave Manhattan Rain his first winner when he scored over 1200m at Murwillumbah after a debut fourth at Ipswich in January.

Downtown Manhattan (Manhattan Rain x Tazkara by Sinndar) was the 12th runner for the Arrwofield Stud sire. She was purchased by part-owner Daniel Lesjak for $32,500 at the 2013 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Her dam is an unraced French mare whose first foal Rowie (Flying Spur) is a last start Rosehill winner.

Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago) is a G1 winning half-brother to champion sire Redoute’s Choice.

He won the G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes at two and returned as a three year-old for G1 placings in the Caulfield Guineas and Cox Plate.

Manhattan Rain stood for a fee of $27,500 at Arrowfield in 2013 and has 12 yearlings catalogued for next week’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Iggimacool’s (Savoire Vivre f x Hidden Moment by Ladoni) became the seventh stakes winer for her leading Tasmanian sire when she won the Listed Tasmanian Oaks at Launceston on Wednesday.

Savoire Vivre (Sadler’s Wells). enjoyed a stakes double on the Launceston Cup card with his accomplished gelding The Cleaner victorious in the Listed George Adams Plate.

• Boom first season sire I Am Invincible recorded a double on Wednesday with wins by Tetsuko ( I Am Invincible x Magdalena by Snaadee) and Fuld’s Bet (I Am Invincible x Dublin Me Bet by O’Reilly) on Wednesday to take his tally of winners for the season to eight.
