Pregnant Pins mare Flamingo boosted her value with a black type win in Wednesday’s Listed Wairarapa Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes at Tauherenikau.
Raced by her breeder, Waikato Stud’s Mark Chittick, Flamingo is in foal to champion sire Savabeel.
Passed in with a $60,000 reserve at the 2015 NZB Karaka Premier Sale, Flamingo is out of the stakes-winning mare Bird (Danasinga), the dam of Singapore stakes winner Preditor (Savabeel).
“She’s done such a fabulous job and we’re very grateful to be able to do this for Waikato Stud, who have been great supporters,” said Emma Haworth.“It’s sad to think she’s going soon but she’s really grown another leg since she’s been in foal.”
Flamingo has had 21 starts for six wins, three placings and $130,310 in prize-money.
