Talented filly Gift Of Power posted a tenacious victory at Trentham on Saturday, providing her young shuttle sire Power with his first Southern Hemisphere stakes winner.

Successful on debut at Wanganui last month, Gift Of Power made it two wins in as many starts with a game win in the Listed Wellesley Stakes.

Power stands at Cambridge Stud. Gift Of Power is trained by Graenme and Debbie Rogerson for a syndicate of owners that includes her breeders Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan.

“She didn’t like that ground, it was her class got her through,” said Graeme Rogerson.

“She’s not a mud runner, she’s too brilliant. I think she’s something special.”

A start in the Listed Welcome Stakes at Riccarton on November 12 is now being considered for Gift Of Power (Power x Capital Diamond, by Lucky Unicorn) at Trentham as she progresses towards the Karaka Million.

A $180,000 NZB Premier Sale purchase from the Cambridge Stud draft, Gift of Power is the first foal of the G1 NZ 1000 Guineas placegetter Capital Diamond, a grand-daughter of celebrated G1 winner and producer Diamond Lover.

A dual G1 winning son of Oasis Dream, Power has made an excellent start to his stud career in the Northern Hemisphere where he has sired G2 winner Peace Envoy and stakes-winner Biz Power.

He added black type double on Saturday at Newbury with G3 and Listed wins by a pair of promising juveniles, taking his number of stakes winners to five.

The Ralph Beckett-trained Pleaseletmewin (Power x Jacaranda Ridge, by Indian Ridge) prevailed in the G3 Horris Hill Stakes and was followed by the William Haggas-trained Cristal Fizz (Power x Effervesce, by Galileo) remaining unbeaten with a victory in the Listed Radley Stakes.

Crital Fizz won an Ascot maiden on her debut in September and has subsequently been sold privately to Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum.

She was first secured as a weanling at the 2014 Goffs November Sale for 47,000 euros and then sold again as a yearling at the 2015 Tattersalls October Sale for 45,000 guineas.

Cristal Fizz’s dam Effervesce is a half to the dual G3 winner and G1 July Cup third Hitchens from the family of Floral Pegasus and champions Glint Of Gold and Diamond Shoal.

Power has sired 18 individual winners overall.

• IMPRESSIVE Savabeel colt Hall Of Fame continued his march towards the G1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas with a dominant five lengths win in the Listed Zacinto Stakes at Riccarton on Saturday.

The $50,000 race has been won by subsequent 1000 or 2000 Guineas winners Risque, Platinum Witness and Atlante in the last three years and Hall Of Fame could be next after he romped home with spectacular ease from Stephenstihls (Smart Missile) and Cobblertothestars (Jimmy Choux).

Hall Of Fame is trained by Jamie Richards and Stephen Autridge for the David Ellis-led Te Akau Stud syndicate.

“He saw out the 1600 metres strongly which we expected with his breeding – by Savabeel out of a Galileo mare – it was good to see,” Richards said.

“He ran good time and he seems to be on track for the big one. He’ll face a better field in the 2000 Guineas, but we couldn’t be any happier with how he’s progressing.”

It was the third win from six career starts for Hall Of Fame, who was bought by Te Akau Racing for $230,000 at last year’s NZB Ready to Run Sale at Karaka.

It was the sixth time in the last 11 years that a Te Akau-trained three-year-old has won the race, which is registered as the Canterbury Stakes.

The previous winners were Risque (2015), Burgundy (2011), King’s Ransom (2009), Tell A Tale (2008) and Princess Coup (2006).
