Group One sire Darci Brahma will stand on a reduced fee of $NZ33,000 at The Oaks Stud this year.
With his eldest crop now five-year-olds, Darci Brahma has enjoyed another fine season led by his star performers Nashville, Recite, Irish Fling, Cauthen and Marianne.
Darci Brahma’s 2013-14 record of one G1 winner per 62 individual runners (three G1 winners/185 runners) sees him out-performing other top Australasian sires.
“Darci Brahma’s sire stats are again quite remarkable and as his race numbers increase in the seasons ahead we’ll see him more dominant,” said The Oaks manager Rick Williams.
“He’s had a great season here and with 49 fewer runners than O’Reilly he’s done extremely well to establish his position as New Zealand’s second leading sire.”
He said the decision to reduce Darci Brahma’s fee from $NZ40,000 keeps the sire accessible to commercial breeders in challenging times.
Bachelor Duke will again be available at $NZ8800 following a top season which has seen his son Shuka win the G1 Captain Cook Stakes, Scapolo claim the G2 Coupland’s Bakeries Mile and Spring Cheer win the G3 New Zealand Cup.
Roc de Cambes’ fee is also unchanged at $6600 while Sakhee’s Secret will not be shuttling to the The Oaks in 2014.
