Crack Australian sire Choisir enjoyed more top level international success on Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday when the Richard Hannon-trained colt Olympic Glory landed the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Olympic Glory (Choisir x Acidanthera by Alzao) won the rich mile event by three quarters of a length from Top Notch Tonto (Thousand Words) with the boom colt Kingsbarn (Galileo) third and champion colt Dawn Approach (New Approach) fourth.

Olympic Glory’s previous victory was in April in the G3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury and he suffered a narrow defeat to Moonlight Cloud in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville in August.

Racing first time in blinkers he responded to a well-judged ride from Richard Hughes to provide another highlight for owner Sheikh Joaan Al Thani, following on from his victory with Treve in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

There was more Group success for Choisir at Randwick where his daughter Diamond Earth (Choisir x Face Of The Earth) topped a great day for Anthony Cummings by winning the G3 City Tattersalls Club Nivison over 1200m.

A $60,000 graduate of 2011 Inglis Classic Sale, Diamond Earth gave Cummings his third win on the Randwick card after his success with the full brothers Best Case and Strike The Stars, also purchased from Inglis yearling sales.

Diamond Earth has earned $691,425 during her 19 start career which includes wins in the Inglis Banner and Inglis Nursery.
