Magic Millions graduates Bear Hero, Dr Sweet and Viva Pronto made it 48 hours to remember for one of Australia's leading bloodstock agents and buyers over the weekend.
John Hutchinson, who operates under the Scone Bloodstock Services banner, purchased all three gallopers from the Gold Coast and all three won feature races across Asia over the weekend.
Star Hong Kong three-year-old Bear Hero kick started the winning streak when a driving winner of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Trophy (1000m) at Sha Tin on Saturday.
Trained by David Ferraris, Bear Hero showed a great burst of speed over the final furlong in Saturday's race, storming home to win by a widening head margin.
Bear Hero's outstanding record now reads out at five wins from just nine starts and he's now earned over HK$3.2 million (over A$400,000).
A graduate of Baramul Stud, Bear Hero is one of five winners produced by the Last Tycoon mare Windfall.
He is one of 488 winners by former outstanding Magic Millions graduate General Nediym - sire of recent stars including War Horse, Night War, Ichihara, General Rippa and Travino.Hutchinson purchased Bear Hero from the Baramul Stud draft at the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $140,000.
On Sunday in Macau the Hutchinson purchases Dr Sweet and Viva Pronto were both among the biggest winners for the Gary Moore stable.
King Cugat's classy son Dr Sweet added another feature race win to his record when he led throughout to win the G3 Grand Lisboa Cup (1500m).
Now the winner of nine races and over M$2.6 million (A$340,000), Dr Sweet has been a great moneyspinner considering he cost just $40,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale.
Another graduate of Gerry Harvey's Baramul Stud, Dr Sweet is one of 18 stakes winners by Kingmambo's sire son King Cugat.
His dam, the unraced Canny Lad mare Retro Chic, is a full sister to Voodoo Belle - the dam of Perth based stakes winner Spirited One. She is also a half sister to Venere, the stakes performed dam of Maxisun (G2 placed himself).
After Dr Sweet's, Macau champion Viva Pronto beat a crack field to win the M$2.4 million G1 Macau Hong Kong Trophy (1500m).
Now the winner of over A$1 million, Viva Pronto was purchased for $140,000 at the 2007 Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale.
He clocked the fastest breeze up on the inner track at the Gold Coast in the lead up to the sale and proved one of the most popular lots at the auction.
The win was the 14th win in 34 starts for the son of Catcher In The Rye (Danehill). He is soon to begin a stud career, most likely in Queensland.
Viva Pronto is one of six winners for the 100 per cent winner producer Steel Shuffle, a 12 time winning Steel Blade mare who's a half sister to Final Shuffle, the dam of popular Queensland stakes winner Shuffle the Cash.
