There was some significant Australian interest in the Cape Premier Sale held at Kenilworth.

Two Australian bred yearlings bought as foals by James Bester from the Inglis Weanling Sale in 2011 were sold during Book 2.

They were a colt by Lion Heart from No Fear that cost $10,000 and a colt by Shaft from Chic Gal that he secured for $15,000.

The Lion Heart colt was sold for R90,000 and the Shaft colt made R160,000.

The Shaft colt was purchased by leading owner Hassan Adams. Adams races the Australian-bred G1 Queens Plate winner Gimmethegreenlight (More Than Ready).

Former Coolmore shuttle sire Antonius Pius had 13 lots from first South African bred crop average R88,075 while former Victorian based sire Seul Amour (Zabeel) had three of his first South African crop sell for a total of R100,000.

Seul Amour is the sire of last Saturday's Flemington winner Coldens Choice.

A Silvano colt and a Trippi filly topped the Premier Sale with the two-day turnover reaching R24.61 million at an average of R83,434.

The Silvano - Saratoga Shadow colt was the star of day one trade at R400,000.

He was bought by Mayfair Speculators and will go into training with Joey Ramsden.

He is from a sister to the dam of Silvano flag-bearer Bold Silvano who is one of the favourites for the Dubai World Cup.

His price R400,000 was equalled during the second session when a Trippi x Yellow Zinia filly was knocked down to Good Hope Racing. She will also be prepared by Ramsden.
