The annual Team Williams unreserved reduction sale comprises a draft of 27 entries for the Inglis Melbourne Select Racehorse Sale on May 23.
Tanby, winner of the G2 Zipping Classic and Bendigo Cup, and Epsom Derby placed At First Sight are among the entries to be sold by Lloyd and Nick Williams at the Oaklands sale.
The last Macedon Lodge draft sold at Inglis included Niblick, who won last year’s Canberra National Sprint and Albury Cup and has banked $205,000 for his new owners.
Others sold in 2013 included Base, who was runner-up in the G3 Lord Reims in Adelaide and third in the Adelaide Cup; I’m Imposing, winner of the G3 Summer Cup at Randwick and second in the C Lord Mayor’s Cup at Rosehill; London Stripe, a Moonee Valley winner who finished third in the G3 Victoria Handicap; and metropolitan winers Henwood, Revitalise and Caton.
The periodical clearance is based on Lloyd Williams deciding to let go any horse he doubted could win at G1 level to make way for new purchases.
His first cull included Subscribe who raced on as Vengeance Of Rain and became the champion racehorse of Hong Kong with winnings of $HK75 million.
More recently Macedon Lodge has let go current rising star Aksar Collar and last year’s G1 Stradbroke winner Linton.
Other winners from the WIliams dispersal sales have included Bolton, Hampden, Brampton, Leading, Hume, Strumming, Coastal, Forecast, Global, Thames, Vesting, Albion, Baron, Ingleby, Maling, Mews, Module, Provider, Provincial, Remodel, Traded, Whitewood, Devon and Compelled.
Inglis Melbourne Bloodstock Director Peter Heagney said another first class collection had been catalogued for the May 23 sale.
Other promising lots include Marksmanship, Excluded and Livery.
