“Very few colts come to a sale with the pedigree and physique of this one and he is bred on one of the most successful crosses we've ever seen, so I'm confident in saying he really does have the X-factor that sets him apart from the rest,” said Newgate Farm's Henry Field.

Consigned by Newgate Farm, the colt is Lot 457, by two-time Champion Australian Sire of Two Year-Olds, More Than Ready (USA) from outstanding racemare Aqua D'Amore, a winner of nine races and $1.9 million with highlight performances in winning the Group I MRC Futurity Stakes and finishing second in the Group I MRC Caulfield Cup.

“He's a very special colt and has been since he was a foal,” Field revealed.

“His progress has been outstanding all the way through and he has that great attitude, which all the good ones seem to have.”

The colt combines the very best qualities of his sire and dam, who were both outstanding racehorses, the former a sizzling sprinter and the latter a high class mare by legendary sire Danehill (USA) that won from 1200 to 2400 metres.

“This colt has the dark colour, shape and athleticism of his sire More than Ready, but you can also see the power and action of Danehill coming through,” Field said.

“The More Than Ready x Danehill cross has proven extraordinarily potent and we saw it again at the weekend with first starter Raceway (from a daughter of the Danehill sire Flying Spur) stamping himself as a top class juvenile with a resounding debut win at Warwick Farm.”

The More Than Ready x Danehill cross has produced 50 winners including six stakes-winners led by Group I winners Benicio, Dreamaway and Perfectly Ready, while More Than Ready over mares by sons of Danehill has produced another 32 winners including four stakes-winners led by Golden Slipper winner Sebring.

In addition, More Than Ready's best horse to date, five-time Group I winner More Joyous, also carries the Danehill blood through her grand-dam Joe Denise.

“It's a proven cross that has worked time and again and this colt represents it in its purest form, giving him true stallion potential for the future,” Field added.
