Kentucky Pharoah wins Dania Beach at Gulfstream on Saturday.
Coolmore Australia shuttler American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile) sired his 13th stakes winner on Saturday when Kentucky Pharoah (3 c ex Strut The Course by Strut The Stage) won the Dania Beach Stakes (Listed, 8f) at Gulfstream Park.
Owned and bred by Calumet Farm, the Jack Sisterson-trained Kentucky Pharoah pulled clear to defeat Fighting Force (Air Force Blue) by a commanding three lengths, with Cave Hill (Frosted) another three quarters of a length back in third.
A winner at two last season, Kentucky Pharoah was having his fourth career start and is the first winner out of the dual Grade 2 winner Strut The Course (Strut The Stage). She was the only stakes winner in four generations with the colt's fifth dam having produced Listed winner No Politics (Another Practice).
American Pharoah's 2021 fee at Ashford Stud in Kentucky has been set at US$100,000. His stakes winners are headed by two Grade 1 winners in Harvey's Lil Goil and Van Gogh while the sire is firing at a rate of seven per cent stakes winners to runners with his oldest Northern Hemisphere-bred crop having just turned three.
American Pharoah has 22 lots catalogued for the forthcoming Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. He had 57 yearlings sell in Australia last year at an average of $226,228 and top price of $850,000.
