Inject breaks maiden at Ellis Park
The Stanley Hough-trained Inject (2 f ex Appealing Zophie by Successful Appeal) shed her maiden status at the first time of asking as she won over five furlongs at Ellis Park on Saturday and in the process handed Darley shuttler Frosted (Tapit) with his first winner.
The two-year-old filly pulled away in the closing stages to beat Quick Munny (Munnings) by a length and a half, while Montgomery Park (Munnings) was another six lengths away in third.
Purchased by Hunter Rankin for US$390,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, the filly is out of Grade 1 scorer Appealing Zophie (Successful Appeal), making her a half-sister to Tapwrit (Tapit) and Grade 2 winner Ride A Comet (Candy Ride).
Further back this is the family of Listed winner Yankee Mon (Maria’s Mon).
Frosted has shuttled to Australia for three seasons where he has covered 288 mares and he will stand the upcoming breeding season at Darley’s Northwood Park base in Victoria for a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).
