Saturday's Beholder Mile Stakes (Gr 1, 8f) at Santa Anita was won by the Michael McCarthy-trained Ce Ce (4 m ex Miss Houdini by Belong To Me) who, in winning, became the 17th Group / Grade 1 winner and 136th stakes winner for former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West).

Now the winner of three of her five career starts, Ce Ce is out of the Grade 1 winning Belong To Me (Danzig) mare Miss Houdini who has produced six other winners including the Grade 2 winner Papa Clem (Smart Strike). Her second dam is dual Grade 1 winner Magical Maiden (Lord Avie) who is the grandam of European Group 2 winner Moviesta (Hard Spun).

Elusive Quality's other Group 1 winning daughters include Elusive Kate, Certify and Camarilla. He shuttled to Australia for six seasons between 2003 and 2008 and was euthanized in 2018 due to the infirmities of old age. His daughters have sired 109 stakes winners to date headed by nine Group / Grade 1 winners including Guelph (Exceed And Excel), No Nay Never (Scat Daddy) and Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor).
