New Group 1 winners
23 for Speightstown 

In winning Saturday's Dubai Golden Shaheen (Gr 1, 1200m) at Meydan, Switzerland (8 g ex Czechers by Indian Charlie) became the 23rd Group / Grade 1 winner for Speightstown (Gone West). Switzerland is the oldest winner of the Group 1 race, running on well in the closing stages to pull one and three quarter lengths clear of Red Le Zele (Lord Kanaloa). The WinStar Farm-based Speightstown is standing the 2022 breeding season for a fee of US$90,000 for the second consecutive year. 

 

Six for Gold Allure 
Gold Allure (Sunday Silence) recorded his sixth Grade 1 winner on Sunday when Naran Huleg (6 h ex Kelley's Beauty by Brian's Time) won the Takamatsunomiya Kinen (Gr 1, 1200m) at Chukyo. Naran Huleg beat Lotus Land (Point Of Entry) by a neck, with Kir Lord (Lord Kanaloa) a close third and also provided his sire with his 27th stakes winner. Gold Allure died in 2017 at the age of 17. 

 

New stakes winners
45 for Camelot

Former Coolmore Australia shuttler Camelot (Montjeu) notched up stakes winner number 45 when the Charlie and Mark Johnston-trained Living Legend (6 g ex Jazz Girl by Johar) won the Magnolia Stakes (Listed, 1m2f) at Kempton on Saturday. Now the winner of five of his 13 career starts, Living Legend beat Al Zaraqaan (Golden Horn) by a nose. Camelot shuttled to Australia for just one season in 2014 and is represented at stud by his sire son Russian Camelot. 

 

13 for Screen Hero 
Piece Of Eight (3 c ex Treasure State by Oasis Dream) won the Mainichi Hai (Gr 3, 1800m) at Hanshin on Saturday, becoming the 13th stakes winner for Screen Hero (Grass Wonder). Piece Of Eight was bred by Northern Farm. Screen Hero's progeny include his Grade 1 winning sire son Maurice.
