Filly becomes Lord Kanaloa’s 20th stakes winner
The Johnny Murtagh-trained Know It All (3 f ex Common Knowledge by Rainbow Quest) ran out a ready winner of the Derrinstown Stud Fillies Stakes (Gr 3, 1m) at Leopardstown on Wednesday and in the process became stakes winner number 20 for the Shadai Stallion Station-based Lord Kanaloa (King Kamehameha).
Last seen running second in the Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial (Gr 3, 7f), the three-year-old filly scooted clear to beat Celestial Object (Galileo) - who is out of three-time Australian Group 1 winner Sea Siren (Fastnet Rock) - by two and a quarter lengths, while Ridenza (Sea The Stars) finished a length and a quarter further away in third.
Bred and raced by Qatar Racing, the three-year-old filly is out of the unraced Rainbow Quest (Blushing Groom) mare Common Knowledge making her a half-sister to Flying Five Stakes (Gr 3, 5f) winner Astrophysical Jet (Dubawi) and fellow Group 3 winner Coral Wave (Rock Of Gibraltar).
The filly’s second dam is Group 2-placed High Brow (Shirley Heights) - the dam of Blueprint (Generous), who won three times at Group / Grade 2 level.
High Brow also produced Listed winner Fairy Godmother (Fairy King) - the dam of 2011 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) winner My Kingdom Of Fife (Kingmambo), while she is also the grandam of multiple Group 1 winner Ask (Sadler’s Wells) and Listed winner Bess Of Hardwick (Dansili).
Further back this is the family of Group 3 winner Monica Sheriff (Lawman) and Listed scorer Making Trouble (Paco Boy).
Among Lord Kanaloa’s stakes winners are four top-flight winners including superstar mare Almond Eye and this year’s Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Tagaloa.
