The Pierro Plate showcases a couple of leading Golden Slipper contenders in Switzerland and Shangri La Express, but the 1100-metre event also signals the debut of a close relation to Winx.

Michael Freedman-trained colt Enriched is a son of champion stallion I Am Invincible and Miss Atom Bomb, who is a half-sister to the legendary mare.

A daughter of Encosta De Lago, Miss Atom Bomb was the foal that Vegas Showgirl had the year before she gave birth to Winx.

Miss Atom Bomb never made it to the racetrack, her one public appearance resulting in a last placing in a Gosford trial before being retired to stud.

Enriched will become her fourth foal to race when he steps out in the Pierro Plate.

Her first Nuclear Blitz, a daughter of Sepoy, won one of her five starts, Bionic is two wins from 16 starts, while Acquaro's only appearance was a Gosford maiden in March 2022, in which he finished fifth.

Between Nuclear Blitz and Bionic, Miss Atom Bomb had a filly by Medaglia d'Oro who was named Trinity One but never made it to the track.

Like Bionic and Acquaro, Enriched is by I Am Invincible and was a $450,000 buy for Gandharvi Racing, Michael Wallace and Michael Freedman at last year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

She had her first trial at Randwick on January 22, finishing fifth, beaten just under 2-1/2 lengths, but then pushed Shangri La Express in a 900m workout at Rosehill on February 5.

"It was only his second trial, against a race experienced horse like that I thought he acquitted himself well,'' Freedman said.

"On the line I thought he was going the equal of Shangri La Express. We'll get an idea on which way we're heading with him.

"He's been a slow maturing horse and he's come a long way in the past couple of weeks."

Tommy Berry was aboard for Enriched's most recent trial and has the ride on debut with the pair to jump from barrier three in the eight-horse field that kicks off Saturday's Randwick card.
