New Group 1 winners
Eight for Sebring

The late Widden Stud stallion Sebring (More Than Ready) sired his eighth Group 1 winner when the Chris Waller-trained Fangirl (3 f ex Little Surfer Girl by Encosta De Lago) won her fifth career victory in Monday's Vinery Stud Stakes (Gr 1, 1850m) at Newcastle. A Group 2 winner previously, Fangirl beat Hinged (Worthy Cause) by a neck with almost five lengths back to Gypsy Goddess (Tarzino) in third. Bred by Ingham Racing, Fangirl is the best winner to date out of stakes winning mare Little Surfer Girl (Encosta De Lago) who was bought by the Ingham Family at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $1.5 million.

Sebring died of a heart attack in February 2019.

New stakes winners
102 for Teofilo

After finishing third last start in the Phar Lap Stakes (Gr 2, 1500m) at Rosehill on March 12, the James Cummings-trained Character (3 g ex Monogram by Medaglia d'Oro) won his first stakes race on Monday when he captured the rescheduled Tulloch Stakes (Gr 2, 1850m) at Newcastle. The gelding scored by a length from Regal Lion, with Sword Point (American Pharaoh) back in third, becoming the 102nd stakes winner for former Darley shuttler Teofilo (Galileo). Teofilo shuttled to Australia for six seasons between 2009 and 2017 and his 2022 fee at Kildangan Stud in Ireland is advertised at €30,000.

152 for Dansili
The late Juddmonte Farms-based stallion Dansili (Danehill) recorded his 152nd stakes winner and 17th in Australia on Monday when his British-bred daughter Promise Of Success (6 m ex Summer School by Street Cry) won the Emancipation Stakes (Gr 2, 1500m) at Newcastle. The mare is trained by John O'Shea and under Kerrin McEvoy scored by a head from Kiku (Zoustar). Promise Of Success was bought in 2020 by David Redvers Bloodstock and Rosemont Stud for 27,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale having sold for 30,000 to former trainer Chris Waller and Durcan Bloodstock at the sale in 2019 when offered by Godolphin.

Dansili died at the age of 25 last December at Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket where he stood for the duration of his stud career. He has a fantastic strike rate in Australia, siring 52 winners from 64 runners at a rate of 27 per cent stakes winners to runners.
