Gelding hands Winning Rupert filly update ahead of Inglis Premier Sale
The Danny Shum-trained Daily Charm (3 g Not A Single Doubt - Siennas Fury by General Nediym) got off the mark at the ninth attempt when he broke his maiden over 1600 metres at Sha Tin on Sunday and in the process handed his Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) half-sister with a valuable update ahead of selling at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
The three-year-old gelding led with 150 metres left to travel and was soon clear of his rivals, eventually pulling clear to beat Tailor Made (Archipenko) by two lengths, while Yes We Can (I Am Invincible) was another short-head away in third.
Purchased for $200,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Riversdale Stud draft, the gelding becomes the third winner out of Listed-winning General Nediym (Nediym) mare Siennas Fury.
Diamond Park Breeding And Racing will offer the Siennas Fury’s aforementioned Winning Rupert filly as Lot 329 at next year’s Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and this year she foaled a colt by Sun Stud-based sire Magnus (Flying Spur).
Not A Single Doubt - who was pensioned at Arrowfield Stud earlier this year - has 17 lots catalogued at next month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, while the stallion has two filly’s set to go under the hammer at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, which gets underway in Melbourne on February 28.
