Shoryu Reve breaks maiden at second attempt at Hanshin
Arrowfield Stud shuttler Mikke Isle (Deep Impact) sired his tenth first-season winner when his son Shoryu Reve (2 c ex Shoryu Moon by King Kamehameha) broke his maiden over 1400 metres at Hanshin on Saturday.
Last seen finishing fourth over course and distance on debut, the two-year-old colt showed an impressive turn of foot to beat World Barows (Discreet Cat) by two lengths, while Red Flanker (Real Impact) was another neck away in third.
The colt is out of the three time Grade 3-winning King Kamehameha (Kingmambo) mare Shoryu Moon, who is also the dam of stakes-placed Shoryu Ikuzo (Orfevre).
Further back this is the same family as Grade 3 scorer Grand City (King Kamehameha).
The Shadai Stallion Station-based Mikki Isle’s winners are headed by unbeaten Grade 3 scorer Meikei Yell and due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic did not return to Arrowfield Stud this season.
