WARWICK FARM April 1

Polytrack; Synthetic

10 Heats – 2 x 1175m (1 Open; 1 Maiden); 8 x 740m (2 Open; 4 2YO; 1 3YO; 1 Maiden)

Godolphin won all four 2YO heats over 740m and an old stable stalwart showed he still has the spark to win races.

KEMENTARI (James Cummings): Yes, the enigmatic "Special K" produced one of the best trials of the morning with a surging finish in his 740m heat won by the lesser performed Crazy Train (44.50; 34.12). It was his first outing since January and the way he split runners over the last 100m under a cold ride from Nash Rawiller says he is primed to be a player over the Brisbane carnival.

It was a big morning for Godolphin with several other noted performers showing up nicely in their trials.

It was hard to miss the soft fourth by ROHERYN in the fastest of the eight 740m trials won by LARGO WINCH (44.43; 33.90) and an impressive third from ZETHUS in the 3YO heat over 740m heat won by TONNEOFGRIT (44.78; 34.27) was another good trial.

The four 2YO heats over 740m were won by the stablemates KIN (44.79; 34.72), MAGIC CARPET (44.90; 34.60), BAYEZID (44.65; 34.50) and MANZONI (45.80; 34.90).

Impending filly KIN has placed in her first two starts at Flemington and her easy two lengths win in the quickest heat augers well for her prospects in Sydney. Lonhro filly MAGIC CARPET has a Magic Night Stakes placing on the board and should not be long breaking her maiden.

BAYEZID is an unraced I Am Invincible colt with definite prospects. He was eager to run and after he paired off with ZOU TIGER, leaving their rivals several lengths in arrears. The unraced Street Boss colt MANZONI was having his second trial and sat 3 wide after being eased off the pace before going home best in a drive to the line with Fastnet Rock youngster THORPE.

The maiden heat over 1175m (71.43; 36.62) saw Annabel Neasham send out five of the six runners including four 2YOs. HYDE, well supported in his first start at Warwick Farm, had blinkers on and dominated to lead easily and score by six lengths. SHOWTIME LADY won a hollow open heat in slightly quicker time (71.03; 36.52).
