TRIAL POINTERS

ROSEHILL March 22: There was plenty of depth in the maiden heat over 900m won in good style by MAROONIYAH (55.22; 35.20).

RANDWICK March 18: Quality mare SATIN RIBBONS (63.29; 35.43) posted the fastest time of the nine heats over 1050m, showing her usual speed to lead by a big space before throttling back over the last 100m for a soft win.

GOSFORD March 18: The Kris Lees-trained REDOUTE'S IMAGE was in good form winning his strong 1000m heat (60.92; 35.96) beating subsequent winner Gem Song. The Kim Waugh-trained TRINITY MISSILE went fastest in the seven heats over the trip (60.51; 35.52). The talented MORE SUNDAYS was under a race ban after winning his last start at Rosehill on January 29 as he was found to have bled from one nostril. The embargo was lifted after he produced one of the best trials of the session making up many lengths under a quiet ride to finish second in his 1000m heat.

WARWICK FARM March 11 (Polytrack): Fastnet Rock filly MYSTIC MERMAID was placed in her only start to date in September and she should soon pick up a win after trialling well within herself to win the fastest maiden heat over 740m (45.13; 34.34). She has a lovely relaxed action that conserves energy

RANDWICK March 3 (Synthetic): SATIN RIBBONS showed her usual speed to post the quickest 780m heat win (45.07; 33.02) in her first trial since November. She was too quick over the short course underlining that she will take catching in any sprint up to 1000m – beyond  that is a worry! Her unraced stablemate ZEMINNIKA made a really nice trial debut to win her 780m heat in good time (46.27; 33.95), travelling easily on the bit and winning by a soft 1.3 lengths with something in hand.
