Top horse racing tips for the eight-race card at Doncaster on Friday, October 21.
13:10 (Doncaster) Gulmarg
Tactics may prove decisive in this small-field contest where there is every chance that Swift Lioness could pull herself to the front and be forced to make the running under William Buick.
If that is the case then she may set the race up for Gulmarg, who is dropped in class after coming home fifth at Newmarket when looking a touch one-paced over the seven furlongs, and he should appreciate both the trip and the lesser company.
Starnberg looks to have something to find.
13:45 (Doncaster) Sea Of Roses
In a race where there are more questions than answers it may be safest to rely on Sea Of Roses, who was second to the classy Arrest at Ffos Las on her only start to date and seems sure to have learned plenty from the experience.
If she fails to build on that run then newcomers Sacred Flower, a sister to Sheema Classic winner Old Persian, and Market Value, the first foal of Gold Cup winer Estimate, could be the ones to capitalise.
14:20 (Doncaster) Doom
In a race full of untapped talent it may be worth keeping a close eye on the performances of Humankind, a daughter of Frankel making her racecourse debut, and Winter's Love, an Invincible Spirit filly for a Charlie Appleby yard whose juveniles can do little wrong.
Both could go well, but Doom looked an unlucky loser when a neck third at Newcastle after having to sit and wait for a clear run.
She may make amends here for a stable and jockey at the top of their game.
14:55 (Doncaster) Satirical
Satirical was sent off an odds-on favourite for her debut at Haydock in May and shaped with an abundance of promise, finishing a head second.
The third and fourth from that contest have both won since and, with the Kingman filly likely to have progressed since her introduction, she looks sure to play a leading role in this contest.
Havana Blue took a big step forward from his first to second start and he must enter calculations, while Florida, Hosanna Power, Inspiritus and Overrule are all interesting newcomers.
15:30 (Doncaster) Mums Tipple
Mums Tipple has been the epitome of consistency in the last few weeks, filling the runner-up spot on three occasions, most recently in a thoroughly competitive heat at Ascot.
A Newmarket win in August seems to have bolstered his confidence and two of his three seconds have been by the narrowest of margins.
Dropping back to six furlongs after trying his luck over seven at Ascot at the start of the month, Mums Tipple remains on a workable mark of 99.
16:05 (Doncaster) Almuhit
Almuhit looks the one to follow as he returns to Doncaster for the vertem.co.uk Handicap.
The son of Sea The Stars began his career on Town Moor in March, finishing fourth in a maiden heat before eventually opening his account at the third attempt at Haydock in May.
Almuhit was slow to break on all three occasions, a trait which persisted on his return following a summer break and a gelding operation.
Sent off favourite at Kempton last month, John and Thady Gosden's charge could not make up lost ground, being forced to race wide and then hanging across the track before eventually being beaten just a length by an all-the-way winner.
He steps up markedly in trip here over an extended 14 furlongs, but the way he has stayed on over a mile and three furlongs suggests the distance may not be beyond him.
16:38 (Doncaster) Lizzie Jean
Lizzie Jean should find the Vertem Very Different Stockbrokers Handicap more her speed after tackling Classic company on her last visit to Doncaster.
Pitched into the St Leger, Ivan Furtado's charge possibly ran better than her 17-length last of nine position indicates, having race a bit freely and failed to see out the trip.
Previously an impressive Southwell handicap winner, calmer waters and a drop in distance should see Lizzie Jean back on form.
17:10 (Doncaster) Morning Sun
Mornign Sun took a step forward when third at Windsor on his handicap bow and the manner in which he finished off that contest suggested the extra couple of furlongs may see the son of Muhaarar progress further.
Aldbourne has gone up 15lb for victories at Nottingham and Brighton this month and he is likely to enter calculations once again.
Flylikeaneagle, Grand Libya and Shahnaz appeal most of the remainder.
