How do I use the Ratings?
The ratings can tell us the merit of past performances, and establish which horses are best handicapped on form to date, but they can’t tell us what the horses are going to do tomorrow.
How suitable the upcoming race is for each of the runners, how likely they are to replicate past ratings, run below past ratings, or run above past ratings, all need to be considered. Factors like the distance, state of track, jockeys and barriers are all relevant.
