British-bred mare provides former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Olympic Glory with his sixth stakes winner
Quick (5 m ex The Giving Tree by Rock Of Gibraltar) provided former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Olympic Glory (Choisir) with his sixth stakes winner when she landed Sunday’s Astra Stakes (Gr 3, 12f) at Santa Anita.
Trained by John Sadler, the British-bred mare scored by a nose over stablemate Hermaphrodite (Le Havre), who is also owned by Hronis Racing, whilst Altea (Siyouni) was another two and a quarter lengths back in third.
"She got the trip she needed today," said assistant trainer Juan Leyva. "She got to relax, not be on the front end. She settled well and got a perfect trip. I think our other filly [Hermaphrodite] might have been a little better, but it worked out great, we ran 1-2."
Bought for 13,000gns at the 2017 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Quick was then sold again when bought for 32,000gns by BBA Ireland at the 2019 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale. She has now won four times and taken her earnings to just shy of US$175,000. Quick is one of two winners and the only stakes winner out of winning Rock Of Gibraltar (Danehill) mare The Giving Tree. Further back this is the family of US Grade 1 winner Tuscan Evening (Oasis Dream).
Olympic Glory’s stakes winners are headed by dual Group 1 winner Watch Me. He shuttled to Australia for the first time in 2015 and his 2021 fee at Haras de Bouquetot is advertised at €5,000.
