Finian's Rainbow followed up his Cheltenham win in the Queen Mum with a fine victory in the Melling Chase at Aintree on Friday.

This starts off with a couple of Gr 2s - one for the hurdlers and one for the chasers.

Cheltenham is set to host some outstanding championship contests for novice hurdlers at The Festival in 2012 after entries were revealed today for the William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle, the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle, the JCB Triumph Hurdle and the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

Well, straight anyhow which won him the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday as joint fav Colour Squadron didn't.

This is a Gr1 event for the Noivce hurdlers at Sandown so it is very disappointing to see such a small field.
