With six winning days from the last seven Saturdays, the Final Report has made a fantastic start to the spring carnival.
Saturday's racing provided five winners from 10 recommended races, headed by Pinker Pinker ($7.50), Trump ($5), Sam's Town ($4.80), River Lad ($4.20) and Celebrity Girl ($2.60).
Here are some extracted notes from Saturday's report.
BR3: “Eastline comes up the early fav. He does get a nice weight relief on the latest brave effort and has top record at the trip, but he's such a one-paced type that he's always vulnerable to something outsprinting him. Sam's Town (Assessed $4) gets his chance here off the much kinder draw if you can look past the 511 days/13 runs between wins.”
BR5: Trump (Assessed $3): “Good effort to win fresh over the 1300m and that form (Biggles etc) ties in strongly for this. He was only 5L off Smart Missile on debut, so has always shown plenty of ability and may be ready to show it now.”
BR7: River Lad: Assessed $3.20, top fluc $4.20
MR1: “Celebrity Girl (Assessed $1.80, top fluc $2.60) ran sizzling time to win on debut and was then put straight away for the spring. Stable clearly has big opinion and she's been well backed to win the Thousand Guineas. Should be forward enough to cope with the 1100m fresh. Happy to take the short odds about the Kavanagh filly.”
MR4: “Hallowell Belle was gunned down at the Valley when 2nd up by a horse having the sitting shot on her. Much fitter this time and looks the right gamble to run the quinella (Paid up to $2.90) for those playing this race.”
MR5: “Pinker Pinker (Assessed $5, top fluc $7.50) was good in the (Cockram) and ran fast time to win Cfld 1400m 2nd up last prep. Big show again.”
Makybe Diva Stakes (Non recommended betting race): “Worth noting there has been some longshot stayers win this at times.”
The Final Report is available every Saturday, covering Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane racing.
