Kranji played host to two meetings on the Polytrack over the weekend which saw Zac Kasa return to the winners circle in the Class 4 Premier (1200m) on Sunday.

Having been rolled the previous start by Lord O’Reilly after racing keenly in the early stages, Michael Rodd took the Cliff Brown-trained runner to the lead again but was able to control the race a lot better this time around.

Kicking clear of his rivals,0 Zac Kasa ran out an impressive three length winner over Lord Ascot in second with Letitgo a length and a half further back in third.

Running to a clear new career peak Timeform figure of 87p, the three-year-old gelding ran some seven pounds above his previous effort when runner up to Lord O’Reilly and looks set to head towards some feature races.

Connections indicated, the son of Reset will now head towards the he second Leg of the Singapore Three-Year-Old Challenge, the Group 2 Singapore Three-Year-Old Classic (1400m) in two weeks’ time on April 22.

Despite having not stepped out past 1200m in his four starts to date, Zac Kasa appears to have plenty of improvement to come and likely to roll forward again in the Three-year-old Classic he could take plenty of running down.

The race prior saw Siam Sapphire secure his second win in a row when taking out the Class 2 over 1200m.

Settling off the speed in fourth for much of the race, Siam Sapphire was able to get the better of his rivals over the concluding stages, beating Guilty Pleasures by just under a length with Nova Missile not far away in third.

The Michael Clements-trained runner ran to a Timeform figure of 82, two pounds above his previous win in a Class 3 by two and a half lengths.

Whilst connections were non committal in regards to where he will go next, with five wins and six placings from his 18 career starts he is building an impressive career record and is likely to be seen in some stakes races going forward.

On Friday night Target was able to continue his strong recent form with a strong win in the Kranji Stakes C (1700m).

Ridden by Glen Boss once again, he was able to control the race leading all the way to secure a two and a half length win over Mighty Emperor in second with Hercales third.

The five-year-old gelding ran to a Timeform rating of 80m his highest since coming to Singapore, six pounds above his previous win in a Class 4 Non Premier (1700m).

Racing in career best form, Target certainly continues to run well in staying trips on the Polytack and is one to keep an eye on going forward.
