Secret Agenda wins 2018 Ata/Bob Hoysted Hcp Listed $120,000 at Flemington (VIC), 1000m.
Following on their success in the Australian Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) trainer Mick Price and jockey Damien Oliver successfully combined again, one race later, in taking out this Listed event with Secret Agenda who staged a smart first-up performance.
She settled nicely in seventh place, behind runners, who were all racing in the centre of the track. She got a split nearing the 200m, challenged at the 100m and finished too well to score by a short-head, taking her record to seven wins (four placings) from 19 starts.
The Tasmanian-trained I’m Wesley, who was resuming after winning all his six starts last preparation, travelled well outside the leader (Crystal Dreamer), got to the front at the 100m but could not hold off the winner to take a very good second at his first run since December.
Crystal Dreamer went to the front, travelled nicely at a reasonable early tempo in the early stages and then held on well in the sprint home for third just in front of the late-closing Husson Eagle, who took (1.2 lengths) fourth.
