Dollar For Dollar wins 2017 Chandler Macleod Recruitment Group 3 $150,000 at Sandown-Hillside (VIC),1500m.
The progressive Tony McEvoy-trained Dollar For Dollar is now the winner of seven of his 12 starts, his last four in succession, and advanced in class here to take out this Group Three race in promising fashion. He settled nicely outside the leader (Hellova Street), challenged strongly at the 300m, taking a narrow lead, and then fought gamely to score good win, albeit by a long neck.
The Tasmanian Hellova Street again went to the front. He lifted the tempo from nearing the 600m and then battled strongly when challenged for a gutsy second in conceding 3kg to his promising rival.
The favourite Moss ‘N’ Dale raced in fourth place, one out and one back, moved up at the 300m and kept fighting on quite well to take the minor placing.
