Angola wins 2016 Detonator Stakes Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA) 4yo+, 1800m.
Seven-year-old gelding Angola, broke through for his first win in almost two years. Having his second start since resuming for the Justin Warwick stable, he raced back in sixth place behind a very moderate pace (first 1200m 1:17.96). He moved up (deep) rounding the home turn, hit the front on passing the 100m and finished nicely in the sprint home (last 600m 34.86), to score well.
