Tyne Cot wins 2015 Team Wealleans Matamata Cup Listed NZ$50,000 at Matamata (NZ), 1600m.

From barrier one, Tyne Cot was one of the slowest to begin but with a clear run accelerated to be behind the leaders at the 1200m. Saving every inch of ground he made a pronounced move, getting off the rails and was ready to pounce as they straightened. Half way down the straight, he was in the clear, four widths off the rails and travelled up to the leader and looked to cruise past but found the pacemaker, Kindaleica, fighting back. These two had pulled away but Tyne Cot eventually got the upper hand to win narrowly.

Kindaleica set the pace and spread the field out by the 600m. Deep into the straight he attempted to break clear and was going strongly only to be challenged by the winner at the 200m but fought hard, going down in the final few strides.

Vincent Street camped outside Kindaleica around the corner and into the straight, looking a danger by almost levelling up to the leader but was out-finished by the first two.
