Magic Hurricane wins 2015 Premier’s Cup Listed $100,000 at Rosehill (NSW) 3yo+, 1800m.
Magic Hurricane was ridden quietly by Sam Clipperton and settled nicely in sixth place, one off the rails, following a very steady pace (first 1200m 1:17.71). He tracked up well rounding the home turn, switched out at the 300m, moved up quickly to challenge at the 150m and went on to score a smart win in the sprint home.
Silverball travelled well in fourth place, one out and one back. He improved nearing the home turn, hit the front at the 200m and fought gamely for a good second.
Kapour raced outside the leader (Spurtonic), got to the front at the 300m and held on to take third at his first run since 9 July.
Beyond Thankful raced behind the leader, got an inside run in the straight and seemed to have every chance before finishing fourth, while Spurtonic led the field until into the straight but then weakened for fifth.
