Maygrove wins 2015 Platinum Homes Wellington Cup Group 2 NZ$ 200,000 at Trentham (NZ), 2400m.

Favourite, the four-year-old Maygrove ran out a comfortable two length winner and in good time. He settled nicely back in seventh place, one off the rails, following a solid pace. He improved well nearing the home turn and challenged on straightening. He took the lead at the 200m and went on to score decisively on his limit weight (52.5kg), putting up a good staying effort.

Perfect Start was past midfield to the 800m before improving between runners at the 600m. But she was blocked badly at the home turn before switching across heels at the 250m. She then came with a strong late finish for an unlucky second.

She's Insatiable was eighth on the rails, looked for a run between runners on turning for home and got through nicely at the 200m going to second at the 100m. She then fought on for a sound third.
