Speedy mare Diamond Earth prevailed to claim the Nivison at Randwick.
Diamond Earth was a distant third (one off the rails), chasing the tearaway leader (Golden Sunshine) most of the way to the turn.
She gradually made up ground on the leader, reached the front approaching the 100m and then battled on to win nicely by three quarter lengths.
Plucky Belle was a distant tenth to the 600m before improving (wide) from the 600m. She put in a run to get to a distant third passing the 200m and continued to make ground for a good second.
Hidden Kisses was ninth, between runners to the 300m, before getting into the clear at the 200m. She then made good ground in the latter stages for promising third.
Driefontein was back in sixth place and wide from her difficult barrier (10) before making a run nearing the 300m. She then finished on fairly well for fourth, without threatening.
Gamba made good ground late, after being well back to the turn, for fifth. The favourite She’s Clean ($2.40) was always well back and raced well below her best, finishing last.
