Racing is at Gawler this week giving Morphettville a little rest.
Darren Weir has a great record getting horses to fire heading over to Adelaide.
One of those is Night Falls who has been in top form in Victoria.
Despite being up for a long while, he just keeps on giving. Able to settle forward or back, he gets a charmed run off the inside draw.
Should any more rain soften the Gawler track, he will love that and another 100m won’t hurt.
With them putting Brad Rawiller on, that suggests they are not worried about the weight and just want an experienced rider on like he has had.
Later on there is a young horse on the rise running for Paddy Payne that we doubt will go leading this week.
Orakei Overlord led them up at Bendigo but that didn’t seem to work.
When able to settle back off the speed prior to that, he put in some very nice performances.
He handles wet or dry and gets a big drop in weight into a field which is about as strong as his recent wins even though up in grade.
It’s not the best barrier but with that weight, they can be aggressive early.
