Super Power will look to continue his strong form this campaign when he lines up in the Class 3 (1600m) at Kranji tonight.
The Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner has won both races this campaign, the most recent in a Class 4 premier (1400m), leading all the way to win by a length over Red Claw.
The lightly raced three-year-old gelding ran to a new career peak Timeform rating of 85p on that occasion and up to the mile for the first time today is open to further improvement.
Super Power has trialled leading into this having not raced since January 7 and he certainly shapes up as the one to beat again today.
Working through his grades nicely, winning two of his four starts and placing a further occasion, Barend Vorster is likely to push forward again from barrier 9 and will take plenty of running down.
The top weight in the race Hidden Promise shapes up as the main danger, coming off some handy recent form and Vlad Duric who is in terrific form of late remains on board.
Hidden Promise scored a good win in a Class 3 three starts back and despite not going on with it the following race over 1800m, the lightly raced five-year-old gelding appreciated the drop back to 1700m last start when third in a Class 3.
Back to the mile today will suit the Mark Walker-trained runner with all four victories coming over this trip and from the awkward draw he is likely to push forward to settle off the leaders with some cover.
Recent form rates well against his rivals and also coming back on the turf for this race he is likely to be right in the mix.
The Capital also comes into consideration following a solid first up effort last start when runner up to Elite Invincible in a Class 3 over 1400m last start.
Should appreciate the extra trip on offer today and the winner of that race Elite Invincible has continued his strong form winning again last week which bodes well for The Capital.
Has only managed the two wins from 16 starts, the most recent when on his Singapore debut last March but the Lee Freedman-trained runner did show enough in his first up effort to suggest he will be competitive in this.
Other chances include Hercales who was much better last start then the result shows also having some excuses the start prior but has not been too far away and can feature in the placings.
Lim’s Regard does not win often but expect him to race on the speed again today and will take some getting past.
Good luck!
