Supreme Effort will look to build on his last start win when he lines up in open company (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.
The Kim Waugh-trained runner followed up two strong efforts at Rosehill with a nice win at the Sunshine Coast last time out in similar company and that form reads well for this.
Damian Browne stays on board for this and he rates very well against his rivals on what he has produced this campaign.
Fourth up today Supreme Effort should be at peak fitness and from barrier 7 again should find a good spot around midfield.
Has won on a slow track previously if the rain comes and the current price of $4 looks a good bet for a horse with his form.
The main dangers Hopfgarten and Too Good To Refuse are both returning from a spell and with race fitness on his side, Supreme Effort certainly looks over the odds at the moment.
Earlier in the day Don’t Doubt Da Wife looks well suited third up off a luckless effort at the Sunshine Coast last start over 1400m.
Drawing the widest barrier on that occasion, the Tony Gollan trained runner raced wide throughout on the speed but still only finished 2.5L from the eventual winner No Annamossity.
From barrier 8 today, the four-year-old mare will appreciate the step up to the mile where she has a good record and also meets No Annamossity better at the weights who will have to jump from barrier 11.
Jim Byrne will remain on Don’t Doubt Da Wife who continued to improve into her preparation last campaign and she looks ready to win today.
The current price of $4 looks a good bet and happy to take on No Annamossity at the short odds of $2.60 who has more obstacles to overcome than he did last start.
Good Luck!
