A bottomless track will greet racegoers at Rosehill on Saturday where punters need to be searching for genuine wet trackers.
The Rosehill track rating has moved into the Heavy 10 range on Friday morning after continued rainfall and that is where it is expected to stay with further rain anticipated.
With this in mind, we need to be searching for rock hard fit horses who are proven on heavy ground, preferably heavy 10 going.
The two we have found could serve you well if you decide to play our Free Racing and Sports Tournament on Saturday which is exclusive to site users.
Alegria profiles as a strong each way bet late in the day contesting the Group 3 Epona Stakes (1900m).
The daughter of Medaglia D’Oro was charging home last start when second to Elle Lou in the Listed Aspiration Quality, not beaten far.
She would have been winning with two more strides such was the way she was hitting the line however it wasn’t to be.
Alegria now meets Elle Lou 1.5kg better at the weights from that outing on Saturday.
Down on the 54kg limit weight, Alegria appears particularly well suited third up and out to this trip.
Group placed out to 2400m, she should thrive up to 1900m third run from a spell.
She boasts an excellent record on heavy ground with two wins and two placings from six starts on it.
While Elle Lou also performs well on Heavy ground, she is untried over anything beyond a mile which could see the daughter of Snitzel left wanting.
Alegria gets in well under Set Weights plus Penalties conditions, meeting a majority of the field on far better terms than she would if this event were conducted under handicap conditions.
Take the each way quote about her as it is shaping as a case of third time lucky for Alegria this prep.
Another each way play early in the card is Hieroglyphics who contests the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes.
The mare is racing in career best form and was only denied victory late by a hard fit Rocket Commander last start in the Wenona Girl Quality (1200m) at Randwick a fortnight ago.
In the process she proved herself on heavy ground.
Furthermore, Hieroglyphics finished ahead of both Nancy and Zestful on that occasion.
Hieroglyphics faces the same two mares here and even meets Zestful a half kilo better at the weights who she beat a long neck last start in the Wenona Girl.
The Conatus mare should be at peak fitness fourth up and furthermore, also looks suited under quality conditions in a race where only four of the ten runners sit inside the handicap.
Keep both Alegria and Hieroglyphics in mind if you decide to play our Free Racing and Sports Tournament on Saturday.
