Two runners off let ups can provide a race to race double midway through the program at Rosehill on Saturday.
The nine race Festival Stakes program is a strong one which includes three stakes races, the Starlight Stakes (1100m), the ATC Cup and the feature, the Group 3 Festival Stakes (1500m).
Before stakes racing kicks off, Reincarnate can make it three straight wins when contesting the Tab.com.au Benchmark 83 Handicap (1200m).
The John O’Shea-trained gelding has gone from strength to strength this campaign and lines up here off a career best win over 1250m at Canterbury on November 5.
Form out of his past two starts has since held up well enough.
The gelding then defeated Dark Steel last start who then went out to place at this course and distance.
Sir Plush ran third in that event and a fortnight later almost made all over 1400m at this course, only collared late by the in form Choice We Had.
Reincarnate has since been given a let up but kept ticking over with a 900m trial at this course on November 22.
The stable appears to have found a suitable race for him on Saturday.
The Medaglia D’oro gelding rates clear of his rivals on 50 day weight adjusted Timeform ratings.
A 28 day let up will prove no issue either with the gelding having won two starts back at Randwick 24 days between runs.
Bachman profiles as an excellent each way play contesting the Listed Starlight Stakes 35 minutes later.
The Gerald Ryan-trained gelding was last seen on Melbourne Cup day where he recorded a long neck second to Kaepernick over this distance at Randwick.
A month later, Bachman contests the Starlight Stakes (1100m) where he appears particularly well suited.
The son of All American already rates highly amongst this field on what he produced first up.
His form last campaign at Group level reads particularly well also.
Bachman performed well through the autumn, commencing with a third in the Group 3 Maurice McCarten Stakes at this course and distance.
He then ran fifth in the Group 3 Kingdom Stakes (1200m) at this course behind subsequent dual Group 1 winner Malaguerra.
A 1.9 length eighth to subsequent Doomben 10,000 winner Music Magnate rounds out a trio of strong performances last campaign which auger well for Bachman’s chances on Saturday.
Looking at the Starlight Stakes specifically, Bachman looks perfectly poised just above the limit weight in an event where only five horses sit inside the handicap after the scratching of That’s A Good Idea.
This means Bachman is meeting all rivals from Brook Road and below on better weight terms than he should be.
The in form Tim Clark has elected to ride Bachman over Mr Manhattan and the pair should enjoy all of the favours in transit from barrier 2.
He shapes as an excellent each way play in the opening leg of the quadrella at $10.00.
