Fine Mist will look to get punters off to a winning start when she lines up in the opening race on the programme at Doomben on Saturday.
The Paul Murray-trained runner returned well enough when running a close fifth behind Furnaces at Hawkesbury last start and comes into this off a slight freshen up.
Possesses a good record when second up previously, winning 2/3 and she is building an impressive career record.
Expect Fine Mist to settle closer to the speed today from barrier 4 and Blake Shinn who has won on the mare remains on board.
Her last start effort rates well in this company and having shown good ability in group company last campaign looks very hard to go past against these.
The current price of $2.80 looks a good price in this company with Saluter and Sony Legend among the main dangers. Click here for best of four tote odds
With a decent tempo anticipated, Fine Mist should get the gun run off the leaders and certainly looks to be one of the better chances of the day.
Later in the programme a competitive field of two-year-olds will line up in the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m).
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Attention comes into the race off a good run for second behind Winning Rupert in the Champagne Classic (1200m).
That form reads very well for this and from barrier 6 would expect him to now be far away in the run again with Blake Shinn on board.
Attention will race with the winkers on first time and the current price of $7.50 looks a good each way bet.
Souchez who produced a very good effort when third in the Champagne Classic last start looks the main danger however with Attention paying a similar price for the place as Souchez is for the win, happy to take the odds about Attention.
Souchez did get the better of Attention last campaign at Rosehill in the Pago Pago however based on last start effort there is very little between them and the Snowden’s are having a great run with their juveniles.
Good Luck!
