It is usually good policy to consider the interstate horses running in Adelaide most Saturdays and we’ve found a couple this week.
While Darren Weir has two runners in the same race, going for the four year old on the up in the shape of Sir Laszlo.
This son of Savabeel has put two good wins together on the new Pakenham track, coming from well back over shorter than today.
When trained in Sydney he got out to a mile and a half and can handle any surface but seems to be enjoying the confidence of the solid ground last couple.
Does look pretty good pace here and he drops significantly in weight. So well placed today.
Onto Race 6 where another former Sydney sider begins his Adelaide career. Impressive Yield brings a solid first up record to the races as well.
Previously with Joe Pride, the five year old was likely seen as not being quite good enough for racing there.
However he will enjoy just a little sting out of the surface and will be strong late.
At around the $8.50 mark, he is worth an each way speck.
