Diamond Oasis heads north after a good first up win at Randwick and looks hard to beat at Doomben on Saturday.
The Joseph Pride-trained runner (Race 4 #8) rates well clear of these on best form and with only 54.5kg to carry from the good draw should prove too strong for what appears a modest field.
Glen Colless takes the ride for the first time and despite the current short odds of $1.70, Diamond Oasis still looks a good bet at that price with her form well superior to anything else in the race.
Senta De Noche resumes for Kris Lees and looks the main danger but has failed to win a race in well over a year now and will need to improve on his form last campaign.
Diamond Oasis generally runs pretty well when second up and stays over a similar trip to what he contested last start at Randwick and back on top of the ground should suit.
Joe Pride looks to have pulled the right reign with the four-year-old gelding who should make it two wins from as many starts this campaign.
Later in the day Epic (Race 8 #1) will look to continue on his good form having won two of his past three outings.
The seven-year-old gelding goes up in weight on his last start win in similar company to this but with the 2kg claim will only be required to carry 57kg.
Has a very good record not only at this course but over the mile and the current price of $7 looks to be very good each way odds for a horse winning races.
Based on recent outings, the Kelly Schweida-trained runner should be around $4 making him attractive each way prospect at the price.
Epic finished very strongly last start indicating the slight step up in trip will not be of concern with Harada Bay and Gangster’s Choice the main dangers.
Last week saw our each way play, Adorabubble take out the first race at Doomben paying as much as $5 on the Friday.
The bet of the day Gun Case was a bit disappointing when running fourth however Adorabubble made it a winning day once again. Lets hope we can continue this weekend.
Good Luck!
