Early mail and best exotic plays for Rosehill on June 28 from racing editor Chris Scholtz.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 1 (3) WINX: No surprise that she has been well supported at the short odds in early betting as she made an impact recording impressive debut win over 1100m at Warwick Farm. She ran through the line keenly and being by Street Cry there can only be upside to her expected improvement over this longer distance against a moderate lot of winter youngsters.
RACE 6 (8) SINGLE: He’s had an interrupted career but when he’s right he is a very talented gelding and the signs are good that he is again close to his best form. The key for him is a firm track and it appears he will get conditions to suit after performing strongly in slow going over 1400m at this course at his last start when an unlucky third behind Scream Machine. Meets that horse 2kg better and with only 51kg to carry is the standout weight horse in this field. He’s a two time winner over this course and distance and has a great opportunity to add to that record.
RACE 8 (5) BURBERO: Came off a strong midweek win under 59.5kg at Canterbury and coped well with stiffer test when he went under narrowly in a three-way finish over 1350m in this grade at this course on June 14. A slow track was not ideal for him last time and will appreciate coming back to 1200m on a firmer surface. Drawn to be in the finish as he will enjoy the best run behind the expected strong pace.
