Looks like another Saturday at Morphettville where we need to assess horses with some affected track credentials.
Lloyd Kennewell brings his Purrealist three year old Baligari back home after taking him to Moonee Valley last time.
In that run he was midfield and made some late ground on the slow going to finish within two lengths. That may have been the only time he hasn’t placed but it was also still a very good effort.
He finds a lovely draw again to sit near the leaders in a race which generates some speed. The fact he has sat close up over short trips will hold him in good stead.
Cloud Valley is a former John O’Shea mare who has moved to South Australia since his elevation into Darley’s top position.
She has taken on better fields than this in all her career starts but this time has only had the one trial leading into that first up run.
From this gate the mare can drift back and come with one run without any pressure of having to take up a position.
Think she will be value.
Another three year old in fine winning form is Capodecina but he has some things to overcome this week.
His best form does come on the Parks track but has to handle the increase in weight up to 59kg which can be tough to control in a very large field with likely speed engaged.
Plus we like Baligari in the same race so happy to lay.
