Brisbane Best

It turned into another tricky day around the country last weekend but fortunately we bounced back in Brisbane.

Mishani Warrior kicked things off early on for us with a deserved win, Dr Barnard ran third at an each-way price in the last and our lay of the week Prussian Heart was never sighted in the three-year-old race.

Keep an eye on Queen Of The Lochs who won that three-year-old race – she was coming off a Beaudesert maiden win and beat home Tisani Tomso who ran second to Into The Red the start prior.

With Into The Red contesting the Golden Rose this weekend, that form looks pretty solid.

Anyway, our first play this tomorrow is nice and early once again.

Rocket To Glory is second-up off a super win resuming here two weeks back and looks set for a pretty lucrative campaign.

He set a fast tempo in that race last start and had them all off the bit rounding the bend before kicking clear to finish 2.5L in front eased up.

This is a tougher race on paper, but he has the runs on the board and should only improve with the run under his belt. Plus he carries 2kg less with the apprentice hopping aboard.

Signified, Miss Imagica and Saluter have all proven to be talented gallopers but they’re all resuming and Rocket To Glory is capable of running them off their feet.

Don’t be surprised to see another dominant performance on Saturday.

Fast forward to race five and I’m pretty keen on last-start winner Uno Five.

He won a similar race here over the trip last start, settling on the rails midfield and received a perfectly patient ride from Robert Thompson, drawing level about 100m out and pulling away.

He only carries an extra kilogram today and has drawn gate two so expect Thompson to ride him fairly similarly.

Show Us A Smile looks the one to beat after winning his last couple but he’s up in grade and should give Uno Five something to chase.

Playitstraight was the other one I was keen in but he’ll likely line up in this afternoon’s Ballina Cup instead.

The $7.50 about Uno Five looks a nice each-way price.

In the next I reckon Spot The Rock looks a bit skinny at $2.80.

We banked on him resuming three weeks ago and he flashed home to be beaten a nose by Buckmoore. He should’ve won but simply didn’t get out in time.

He faces a stiffer assignment today though and has a habit of being a bit flat second-up.

Whitlam is the curious one up from Newcastle.

He reared at the start here last weekend and was never in it, but has form around some handy ones from a few Sydney runs earlier this campaign and can measure up here without surprising.

Bribie is also in action again at his favourite track and trip and has worked himself into some pretty good form this campaign.

He won two back at Eagle Farm then made up plenty of ground here two weeks ago to run third behind Susashi. Expect him to be well in the mix again today.

Memorable Moment is the other one who looks a hope today. He was only a head behind Spot The Rock in that race three weeks ago and was arguably finishing the better.

Spot The Rock looks the one to beat, but at $2.80 I’m staying well clear.
