After proving ultra-impressive first up in the Listed Belmont Guineas little seems to stand in the way of Summah’s Touch making it back to back wins when she lines up in the Listed Belmont Oaks this weekend.
Coming from near last to deny the Simon Miller trained Hussy By Choice the daughter of Blackfriars proved successful in living up to her solid form prior to a spell having finished second to Moreish in the Group 2 W.A. Oaks.
While many felt she would be short of her best over the shorter trip she showed an impressive turn of foot and appears to have made good improvement off a break.
Stepping up to 10 furlongs appears more than ideal this weekend and given she rates close to 12 pounds clear of her nearest rival something would clearly have to go wrong or another galloper would have to show stark improvement to deny her victory.
Some brave corporates opened her up as a 6-4 chance however that has clearly been snapped up and the best around at present is $1.90.
While that may seem short enough we have her rated closer to a $1.30 shot and will gladly take the price on offer.
After proving game in defeat at both starts back this time in the Donna Baillie trained Malaika appears very well placed to notch up a well-deserved win in the fourth race on Saturday.
Settling towards the tail of the field last start she proved very impressive in the run home in a race which was clearly dominated by on-pace runners.
Sticking to the mile this weekend should suit her down to the ground and with the aid of Mitchell Pateman’s 2kg claim she will only have to carry 52.5kg.
On weight adjusted ratings she sits an impressive six pounds clear of her rivals and considering as much as 7-1 is on offer at present she shapes as an each-way bet to nothing.
The Simon Miller trained Platinum Rocker has been installed the short way home in the final leg of the Quaddie however she does appear vulnerable and looks under the odds at her current quote.
Going for a spell in winning order the daughter of Love A Dane has proven ultra-impressive in her short career to date however her best form has been seen over further and feel a few other runners in this field might prove too sharp for her.
Currently rated a $3.80 shot appears far too short and prepared to risk at this stage.
