Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 08.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Goulburn, Kempsey and Wangaratta.
GOULBURN: RACE 1 @ 1:10 PM
BOUNTY BY KNIGHT (1) finds his race today second up after resuming with a gritty on pace second over today's trip at Moruya on September 17. Gets the right race set up and should prove too good for these. VORIAH (4) is a 20-start maiden who will find this easier after running fourth over 1200m here behind Sir Lunchalots on September 13. Go on her solid run two back when assessing her chances. PARTHENOPE (3) Danielle Seib trained four-year-old mare by Bolt D'Oro out of a Danehill Dancer mare on debut. Recent trial winner at Goulburn was solid and she can play a leading role. RAIDERLICIOUS (8) three-year-old Kermadec filly out of Thunder Raider on debut for the Matt Dale yard. Not that far away when fifth over 800m in a Goulburn trial on May 24. Can play a leading role.
SELECTIONS: Bounty By Knight to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Goulburn Computer Card.
KEMPSEY: RACE 7 @ 5:40 PM
EXCEEDAQA (12) was lining up for the fifth time when she comfortably took out a maiden over this course and distance 19 days ago. On-pacer drawn to enjoy the perfect run. Progressive filly whose figures suggest she is ready for this tougher assignment. SUMO FISH (5) sat off the speed then let down nicely to win with authority last time out over 1262m at Taree. Very fit gelding who just needs luck from a sticky gate to be in the finish again. BUFFETT (3) has been freshened up and switched from Chris Waller to Tony Ball since failing over 1800m at the Sunshine Coast five weeks ago. Has been competitive in better races than this so he comes right under notice. SUPER JAIE (2) made it two wins on the trot when he dug deep to score over 1200m at Coffs Harbour recently. Getting up in the weights and has drawn wide but his form is impossible to fault. DRESDEN (13) has transferred to Marc Quinn following some average form at the provincials. Could surprise coming back in grade.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Exceedaqa.
WANGARATTA: RACE 3 @ 2:30 PM
CHARCOALS (2) is a lightly raced 3yo who resumed with a good run at Echuca as a $2.50 chance, beaten 2 lengths into third. He did start $2.30 in a very strong 2yo Hcp on debut and finds a very winnable race here. ENCOURAGED (3) was good on debut at Pakenham Synthetic when second, beaten half a length before an even effort at Sale. Open to plenty more improvement. FLITGROVE (7) is a Kobayashi filly on debut who has trialled well and is worth keeping an eye on. EQUAL POWER (6) wasn't far away on debut and can figure.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Charcoals.
