Babies on show

Doncaster Thursday hosts two G2s.

We were delighted to see that the Press Room at Doncaster is to be named in honour of Howard Wright.  It wouldn't be Doncaster without Howard and now he will be here for ever.

The first of the G2 is the Mayhill for the 2yo fillies over 1600m with a field of 10 and a chance to see the very promising Desert Flower, a daughter of Night of Thunder, can continue with her very impressive start in which she has won her two races by large margins.  She on 5/6 for Appleby-Buick but deserves to be short priced.  Two O'Brien raiders are on 6/1 – Ecstatic, by Lord Kanaloa whom we saw a couple of weeks ago in Japan looking great, and January, a Kingman filly.  The former will be ridden by Ryan Moore and the other by Sean Levey.

Then the Park Hill is for the stayers over 2900m with the market headed by Andrew Balding's Night Sparkle on 10/3 with Oisin Murphy riding.  Oxford Comma is from Ralph Beckett's yard and Rossa Ryan rides.  Mistral Star is with Hughie Morrison who has got William Buick for the ride and they are on 9/2.
