Carlos Sainz has reflected on how he and Charles Leclerc quickly resolved their clash during the Las Vegas Grand Prix after a series of costly team errors affected their race results.

Sainz found himself at the centre of the drama after Ferrari's botched second pit stop. The team initially called him in, only to tell him to stay out when they weren't ready, costing the Spaniard precious time.

This mistake forced him to drop behind Leclerc, who was told he would not face any pressure from his teammate.

However, after completing his own stop, Sainz quickly passed Leclerc, who was left frustrated and venting on the radio.

Leclerc's anger was evident as he followed Sainz to a fourth-place finish, but both drivers have since moved on.

Speaking ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix, Sainz admitted the team had internal discussions to address the incident. "We've learned our lessons," he said. "Mistakes were made, but we managed to move on quickly.

"We talked it through, turned the page, and that's what's important."

Leclerc echoed these sentiments during the official FIA press conference, revealing the strong relationship between the two drivers. "We've gone through this many times," Leclerc explained. "It's normal to have misunderstandings in the heat of the moment, but after a couple of days, you gain perspective.

"When you talk things through, you understand them and move on."

Having shared the same car for years, both drivers know how to put their differences behind them.

"We always fight each other on track," Sainz continued, "and we've learned how to handle these situations because we've been through it so often."
