Stablemates No Effort and Keats will be nominated for the Cranbourne Cup.
Gavin Bedggood would love nothing more than to win his hometown Cup and he could make a two-pronged attack on the race.
No Effort and Keats will be entered for the $500,000 Listed Cranbourne Cup (1600m) on Saturday.
The Cranbourne Cup has been in Bedggood's sights after he turned No Effort out for a break after she finished 12th to Melbourne Cup runner-up Emissary in the Listed Heatherlie Stakes (1700m) at Caulfield in August.
No Effort ran fifth in the Cranbourne Cup last year at the end of a long campaign and will go into Saturday's contest fresh.
"The run in the Heatherlie ripped the guts out of her," Bedggood said.
"They went way too quick, and she knew that she had been around.
"So, we pulled up, went to the paddock for a couple of weeks, had a couple of weeks at the water-walker and the Cranbourne Cup has been the aim from a fair way out."
Bedggood said No Effort had been working along steadily in the build up to her return and will head to the Turf Club, away from the Cranbourne Training Centre, for her final gallop on Tuesday.
"She's great," Bedggood said.
"Everything she has done since she's been back at the stable has been geared towards the race and she'll arrive in great order."
A noted wet-tracker, Bedggood said the forecast for early in the week with fine weather was not ideal for the mare, but he was heartened to see that rain is forecast later in the week.
"There's rain expected late next week, maybe up to 25 mils next Saturday, so I hope that sticks around," Bedggood said.
Keats has proven a good money spinner for Bedggood and connections since joining the stable from the Mike Moroney yard.
In five starts, Keats has registered three wins while collecting just shy of $135,000 in prize money.
"He's been a great pick-up," Bedggood said.
"We've also got the Kilmore Cup (November 20) as an option with him.
"I would like to try and split them as they both have similar racing styles, but the hometown Cup for $500,000, I wouldn't mind having two bites at the cherry, instead of only one."
