Talented mare Mizlecki secured her fourth Listed race with a runaway win in the Old Comrade Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on Saturday.
Trained by Fred Kersley, Mizlecki ($2.80) became the third winner of the day for Daniel Staeck when striding clear to score by four-and-a-quarter lengths.
There was a sensation before the race when favourite Tellem We're Comin dumped William Pike on leaving the mounting yard and was a late scratching.
It was Mizlecki's first win since claiming the Belmont Oaks last July but she was primed for it after three runs this time in including a last-start fourth in the Grandstand Cup.Kersley said the four-year-old deserved to get another win on the board.
"She's been a terrific little mare over her career and look forward to her in some better races as time goes by," he said."It's good that she's come back because she did fracture a fetlock joint last year and she races with three spurs in a leg but despite all of those issues she's come here today and done a pretty good job."
